Bad back and Happy Feet

Hi everyone! I am so sorry I have disappered. My back is giving me so much grief that my inspiration, desire and ability to stand and cook pretty much flew right out the window. Today I cooked for the first time in what seems like eternity. I made some steamed squash, broccoli, and roasted some yams, yukon golds, carrots with onion and garlic. Sorry no pictures, cuz it is pretty boring stuff. My back has to get better or I don't know what I will do. I have been living on chips (oh so healthy), the stero-type vegan PB&J, and avocado sandwiches. Not healthy, making me feel yucky, and oh so depressed. I am sure no one wants to hear my sad story. But I wanted everyone to know I was alive. I have been reading a bunch of blogs and getting really hungry for real food.

The good news, my mom bought us the DVD Happy Feet. It is a really good movie. I am happy to have a movie out there that did not hurt animals during the making and one that promotes taking care of Mother Earth. Brandie sent me this picture and I think it is so cute and creative. Amazing what you can do with eggplant. Brandie sent me some other ones that I will post every now and then to give cuteness to my rather dry blog. I will try this weekend to get some serious cooking done. Thanks for visiting!

I'm so sorry your back is out again! My son started having back trouble when he was 15 and Ijust hate that he will deal with that the rest of his life.

Maybe the next time you are able to get in the kitchen you can cook yourself a whole bunch of healing foods. Wish I could help!

So very sorry about your back pain. It can sure zap the joy out of things. If you haven't tried a chiropractor yet, do so as they can work miracles. Just find a good one by asking around to people who have one. Also, Yoga for the Rest of Us for the Back by Peggy Cappy is a good tape to get if you can find it.

I am so sorry you are having back trouble. I hope it feels better soon. It’s a shame it’s preventing you from cooking. I have seen some of those veggie animals and they are so cute! I am not sure I could eat an eggplant if it looked like a little penguin! I don’t think your blog is “rather dry”, I love reading it!

Sheree, i hope your back is better. It is NOT fun to have any achy parts, but the back is especially frustrating when it's not in proper working condition. Hoping you feel better all the way very soon!!

"Happy Feet" is a very cute movie. My mom and i saw that in the theater a few months back.

If you check my blog a few posts ago i have a bunch of veggie/animal photos, including the one above, that you are welcome to "borrow" and show off here! They also might bring a smile to your face! (i hope!)

And just an FYI, your blog is not "rather dry" - i find it sweetly refreshing!

Here's to healthier, happier times ahead!

Hope you're on the mend soon! I suffer from some chronic back pain and find that stretching every day, morning and night is the only thing that keeps it at bay. Physical Therapy was the best thing I ever did for myself when it first flared up.

I love your blog and look forward to checking in on what you're up to when you're able. Until then, take your time healing and do something restful just for you!

Thanks for your comment regarding using animal fibers in crafts - you're right - we all try to do the best we can. I enjoy your blog and am adding it to my favorites.

I have been trying sevreal times to leave you a comment, but when I check at school the proxy will not let me comment. :(..... I hope your back is better, I know what a bummer that is. I have been giving weight watchers core recipes more and more thoughts ..... you and your daughter are so inspiring. Well all except for pb and avacado sandwiches??? Vegan eight years here and I don't like peanut butter nor avacado. I really am not a picky eaer, those are just two of the very few I don't care for.

Hey Momma... I think your friend Dori thought you meant Peanut Butter & Jelly AND avocado sandwiches! EW! :) Nope, those are separate sandwiches Dori, lol, I don't think my Momma is QUITE so adventurous! Heehee!
