The 4th of July and Triple Chocolate Pudding

We went out with the kids, Micah and Brandie, to take engagement pictures. I just love this one! It was just a fun shot in front of a huge fountain down in Balboa Park in San Diego. They were both giggling like crazy. Yes, Micah got his hair cut. Brandie told him he was HOT before and didn't think there could be improvement. She admitted she was wrong. Now she says he is REALLY HOT!!

Our church has a 4th of July breakfast with games, music, flag ceremony, and fun every year. It is an OMNI"S delight and a VEGAN'S nightmare. DH went early to help the men cook the bacon, sausage, eggs and cheese, pancakes (with eggs and milk), and a load of other stuff. I came later and brought my own breakfast . Here is my tofu scramble, which by the way, I can't seem to get enough of lately. It is just so refreshing! I also made myself some whole wheat blueberry pancakes. I was so happy to see bowls of juicy, red, ripe watermelon to feast on too! It was a good day. I love it when we all say the Pledge of Allegiance! It brings tears to my eyes. I love my Country!

Our 4th of July BBQ was Gardenburgers and my black bean burgers. We also had fresh pineapple, watermelon, and cantaloupe. Brandie loves her spud puppies. Oh, I found some cheese called "VEGAN" cheese at Whole Foods. Brandie loves it! She misses cheese. I am lucky not to have that problem, but I do love nutritional yeastie sauces.. :o)

Another wonderful way to use Bryanna's Chicken Cutlets from the Everyday Dish DVD. These cutlets are the best ever. Brandie says she can not get enough of them. This stir fry was delish. Clean out the fridge and wala! Stir fry over steamed brown rice. Yum-O!

Julie's Triple Chocolate Pudding from the Everyday Dish DVD is so rich and decadent. I know the picture does not do it justice, but the taste is everything any Vegan or Omni would desire. My DH thanks you Julie!

I will leave you all with my picture of my little friend that stopped by for a visit to our garden. I wish it came out clearer, but he has a marking on the back of his head that makes him look like a cyclops. He only stayed for a short visit and then off he went to bigger and better gardens. :o)

Hi,

I just read your comment on my blog, and it brought me here! I'm glad you like the boston baked beans recipe- there's nothing like the smell of the house after beans have been baking in the crock-pot all day.

Congratulations on your daughter's engagement- they look so happy!

Your scramble looks perfect. I want some now! I need to get the everyday dish dvd..

what did you think of the vegan cheez? I wasn't a huge fan of it...

I have a new cheez idea that I am going to work on today... oh, the quest for the perfect cheez!

Bazu - The beans are cooking and the house is beginning to smell wonderful. I can't wait to taste them.

Mel - I am not big on any of the vegan cheeses out there, but Bandie loves them. I can't wait for your cookbook with all your yummy recipes. Your cheese will be in there? I am totally addicted to tofu scramble these days. I wish you luck on your new cheese recipe!

Veggie Girl - Hi! I am so glad you came to visit. Oh, the pudding is so rich. It is at the top of the list for favorites with my husband. Thank you for linking my site on yours. I have done the same!

How fun to take engagement photos & at such beautiful place -- I didn't realize you're a San Diegan! Love that city, we lived in PB for 7 years and surfed everyday. I need to make Julie's pudding next, and your stir fry looks fabulous. Aren't those cutlets supreme?! :)

Hi Sheree!

Love the photo of Brandie & Micah at Balboa Park. i know that fountain well! All of 'em. BP is a treasure!!

i love all your food. That scramble is AWEsome. If only the omnis would open their minds... at least more of them...

i want to write a very sincere thank you for your kindness about Mattie... she is doing better but we have a little ways to go... We spent a full day (and small fortune) at the Emergency Clinic in La Mesa a week ago Sunday and basically every day since then at our regular vet's near the Souplantation on Fletcher Parkway.

Your garden visitor is adorable. i love him/her!!

Oh yeah, one more thing!: i have an extra $5 off a $20 or more Henry's purchase coupon. E-mail me if you want it (or just e-mail me anyway to say hi!) and send me your address or i can drop it by. It expires 20 July.

Hope you are feeling GOOD!

Wow, that is quite a spread. The chocolate pudding may indeed be my favorite.

The church breakfast sounds like fun, sans the omni food and your pancakes...yum!

What cool looking dragon fly. When I was a kid, I would rescue them from spider webs.

I thought it was kinda funny we both made the black bean burgers for 4th of July, but they are so good! And that pudding looks truly decadent and delicious.

Please tell Micah I love his haircut and I think he looks extremely handsome! The wedding pictures are going to be amazing.

Your food looks so good. I can't get enough of tofu scrambles either. My daughter's at camp now and says she's really missing scrambles for breakfast.

Love your pudding pic too. I'm glad your husband likes the recipe.
